Never leave the house without a hug, a kiss and a ‘I love You’

In the States, they say “I love you” to everyone all the time. It’s like an automatism when saying goodbye.
Living there, I couldn’t get used to it . Our neighbour played the same tape every time she went back home: “bye, bye, love you….”. It didn’t sound genuine.
Then again, We take our loved ones too often for granted and say far too little that we love them.
I don’t want to be negative, but you never know that it might be the last time. I remember my sister sobbing between her tears that she was glad that on the day of her son’s accident, she had told him she loved him. Even though at the time the I love you may have sounded like a overly played tape.
Tip for today
If you hurry out the door and realize you haven’t said properly goodbye, walk back in, give your loved ones a big hug and a kiss and tell them you love them.
