This is not just a new-age mantra. Studies show that if you buy something from an independent, local shop, service provider or farmer your community will grow stronger!

Especially now you want to give your fellow residents a boost.

The money you spend locally will come back to you in one way or another: a job for your neighbor, jerseys for the local football team, fewer traffic jams, high quality local products, provisions for the youth camp, a nicely lit shopping street during Christmas, staff with a smile, cleaner air, a correct price for subcontractors, a more cozy, convivial neighborhood!

An additional 21,420 jobs can be created in retail if (Belgian) households shop locally for 100 euros on a monthly basis instead of spending that same money on foreign suppliers and chains (source: Unizo, 2020).
