Do you recognise this feeling: you are browsing through your photos. You come across a picture with a friend and suddenly the memory fills you with happy feelings?
Pass this feeling on and send this picture to that friend.
Cleaning up your photo library
My photo library already contains over 10000 photos since I got this phone. There’s a lot of clutter:
- Photos I took at the store because others want to give their advice or have a word in the choosing
- Four or five times (almost) the same picture – so I could keep the best one afterwards (which I seldom do).
- Things I had to remember
- Picture of the fridge or pantry before grocery shopping to remember what I don’t have to buy
- Pictures of recipes I saw
- Photos of rental cars to have proof afterwards (and licence plate to find your parked car back)
- Pictures of my parking spot in large car park
- Texts in too small print, I wanted to magnify so I could read it
- Time tables of buses, trains,
- Screenshots of tickets
- menu’s in restaurants
- …
It’s really a hopeless task to sort this out and put them into structured albums. Unless…..
You take it step by step (like that elephant you eat piece by piece).
This is how you do it:
Every day you search all the photos from a particular day but without adding a year. E.g. today you look for all photos from March 22nd. The result is often a small and manageable number.
It will only take a few minutes to remove all the junk and put the rest in the right albums.
If you keep this up every day, next year your entire photo library will be clean and structured :-).
