Hack your happiness hormones: seratonin

Book a massage to boost your seratonin

As you could read a few weeks ago, there are many little things you can try every day that give a boost of feel-good chemicals.

This week we talk about serotonin. This neurotransmitter helps regulate your mood as well as your sleep, appetite, digestion, learning ability, and memory.

If your body has a high level of Serotonin:
You’re calm, satisfied, open-minded, clear minded and socially dominant. Life with a lot of serotonin can be very beautiful!

If however your body has a low level of Serotonin:
You’re anxious, depressed, pessimistic and aggressive. Life generally looks very gloomy.

In the infographic below you find 6 things you can do to boost your serotonin levels. As tip of the day I chose my favorite:

Book a massage (or ask your friend to give you one) to boost your feel-good hormones.

You might already have a sense that a massage can influence your mood, but you probably don’t know that this isn’t just the result of working out muscular tension. Research on how massage changes body chemistry suggests that serotonin levels often peak after a session!
