Track your screen time

It has become unthinkable to walk around without our phone. I know I turn back when I – in a panic –  realize I forgot my phone at home.

To my defense, that makes sense.  Our mobile is so much more than just a pimped out phone anymore. It’s more like a giant computer in pocket size.

Did you know that we now have more access to information in our pocket than presidents did just 50 years ago?

On average, we spend a total of about 4 hours a day looking at our smartphones. But is this harmful? Opinions are divided on this. Although it is now becoming increasingly clear that staring at your screen for too long is not good for you. According to experts, an upper limit of two hours per day of screen time is acceptable.

Tip for today
Keep track of your screen time

Tools that can help you track your screen time

Digital Wellbeing (Android) and Screen Time (Apple) are built-in tools on your phone that help you do this.

They keep track of exactly which apps you use, how many times you open them in a day and how much time you spend on your smartphone.
If it gets out of hand, set yourself a limit. Just before it expires you will receive a warning from the operating system.
