As a tribute to Peter R. De Vries
Journalists give us an insight into the world. Thanks to their reporting, we know what is happening and what is going on in the world.
Out of the abundance of information, they filter out what is useful for us and present it as clearly as possible, often under time pressure or under compelling pressure from various stakeholders: bosses, shareholders, advertisers, political, financial or personal interests of the subject….
Investigative journalists even go a bit further and dig deep into a topic, often not without danger.
I have enormous admiration and respect for this profession.
Journalism has become an inseparable part of our lives and often put in a bad light. So it’s time to show our appreciation as well.

It was only after I heard the episode of De Volksjury podcast about Peter R. de Vries that I realised how thorough his work was and what the man accomplished. Today my appreciation, respect and admiration go to this crime reporter, as a tribute to Peter R. De Vries.
