When you see something beautiful in another, say it out loud


I often catch myself noticing beautiful things in others but for some reason not saying them. I think ‘oh, she looks good’ or ‘wow he solved that situation really well’ … but I keep it to myself.
Afterwards I ask myself. Why? WHY?
Whatever the reason, it’s really all in my head.
And that is a shame because giving a compliment only takes a few seconds and it brightens up someone’s day. So I made a resolution to always say my compliments out loud.

Next time you see something beautiful, fun or original about someone – inside or out – don’t hold back and tell them.
For me, one of the best compliments in movies is the one given by Jack Nicholson in the movie As Good As It Gets.
In this movie, Jack Nicholson is a famous novelist and a crude, sarcastic, soured and prejudiced misanthrope who suffers from obsessive-compulsive anxiety disorder. Everyone who meets him gets insulted. The only person who can deal with him is his regular waitress, a single mother who works constantly to provide for her and her severely asthmatic son….
