Don’t keep other drivers waiting

The shops are open again and the holidays are almost here.

Unless the shopping crowds will be incredibly well organized this year, you can already imaging the overcrowded car parks.

Do you recognize this situation?
After driving around the parking lot three times, you finally see a family overloaded with shopping bags, wandering to their car. And Oh yes, lucky you! Their car is parked next to the spot where you are waiting patiently.  You put your blinkers on, this parking space is yours!

And then, ……you wait, you wait… it seems to take forever before they finally drive away.
Ever experienced this?

Probably you will. Several studies have shown that it takes longer for drivers to drive out of their parking lot when a car is waiting than when there is no car. And if the waiting car honked its horn, it took even longer…

Tip for today
Don’t let drivers who want your parking spot wait too long and don’t honk on ‘slow-moving-out-of-their-parking-spot’ drivers.
