Dance in your living room

It may look silly, but it’s fun and great for your health. For the moment, we cannot dance in clubs or at parties anymore, but we can always dance in our own living room.
Apart from making your children laugh, dancing – even in your own living room, has a lot of positive effects:
It’s obvious: when you dance, you are moving! That’s beneficial for your heart and lungs and trains your muscles.
Dancing helps you to stretch, which increases your range of motion. It improves your coordination and balance. And it is undoubtedly a pleasant way to help you lose weight and get more energy.
Spontaneous body movements such as dancing trigger the body to release dopamine, making you feel good. So if you’re with something or you’re under stress, dancing might make you feel better.
In a study at the University of Derby, psychologists worked with people with depression. The people were taught salsa for nine weeks. At the end of the course the participants said they had fewer negative thoughts, could concentrate better and had a greater sense of calm and tranquility.
According to a study in The New England Journal of Medicine, dancing can refresh your memory and prevent you from developing dementia as you get older.
Dancing is not only a form of escaping from what is happening around you, but also has a healing effect on our emotions. Why does it do that? The movement of the body in combination with music therapy helps to take away many negative emotions and will make you smile!
Tip for today
Don’t worry about looking stupid, put on your favorite song and dance, dance, dance!
