Compliment a co-worker to their boss

A compliment goes a long way in the workplace, especially when you’re talking to someone’s boss. Above all, compliments encourage positivity in the workplace, which benefits everyone.
Tip for today
Compliment a co-worker to their boss.
Before sharing that compliment with the boss, here are some tips:
That your colleague is great fun at happy hour, will not impress the boss. Rather talk about a specific incident when your co-worker showed expertise or went above the call of duty to complete the job.
You can compliment the quality of your coworker’s work, his or her strong work ethic, your coworker’s ability to deal with colleagues or to deal with customers.
The boss likes to hear that his/her employee is representing the company well, he or she will appreciate the productivity, the commitment and integrity of co-workers.
Keep the conversation professional. Remember that your words reflect back on you. The boss is busy and wants to hear about what affects his company as a whole, not necessarily about the social lives of his employees.
Don’t wait too long with your compliments. Bringing up compliments from time past may make the boss question as to why now, and he may not be able to use the compliment to reward the employee for a job well done if too much time has passed.
