Practice the 15 minute rule

Tip for today
If your destination is less than 15 minutes away, go on foot or by bike.
It takes longer and is less “convenient” than taking your car, especially when the weather is not cooperative and we have a lot to carry.
But there it is absolutely clear and proven that putting one foot in front of the other (or a pedal) has some very impressive physical as well as mental benefits.
Despite the risk I am taking that this will become a very long list, I’m going to give you some of the benefits of walking or biking:
Walking and leisurely cycling improve your fitness and your heart, it relieves depression and fatigue, improves your mood and make you more jovial, it creates less tension on your joints and reduces pain, lowers your cholesterol, improves your immune system, can prevent weight gain, reduces the risk of cancer and chronic diseases, improves your endurance, your circulation and your posture,
…the list goes on and on…
In addition, a Stanford University study found that walking increases your creative output by an average of 60 percent and boosts your focus and self-confidence. Walking has also been shown to improve memory and stop the deterioration of brain tissue as we age.
Not to mention the positive impact on the environment!
So, leave that iron horse in its stable and make yourself and nature happy (especially now that the weather is going to be a lot better) by using your legs!
