Send a card to lonely seniors in nursery homes

Send a card to lonely people

The strict rules in residential care centers have become much milder than last year (when I first posted this tip). Visitors are allowed again and residents are allowed outside again, for example to go out on a terrace.

Still, I know that there are a lot of residents where little or no family comes to visit and who don’t dare or can’t go outside alone to be among people. And that is so bad.
We are all busy, but we can perhaps give these people a smile by making a simple gesture that doesn’t take much time.

A handwritten card, for example. That will do them a huge amount of good, even if they don’t know you.

Tip for today
Send an “old-fashioned” card to lonely senior citizens in residential care centers

How do you go about this, since you probably don’t know these people (ah, no otherwise they wouldn’t be lonely)?
I simply wrote a few cards with comforting texts and went to take them into the nursing homes in my area. I asked the caregivers to hand them out to the people who needed it most.

Afterwards I heard that they think this is fantastic. A nurse told me that some residents have asked to hang their cards in their rooms so they can look at them every day. And that made me feel good.

Knowing that you are doing those people a favour with this, more than you might suspect, makes you happy too!

You can download the cards below if you like (older people usually like the animal cards best)
