Master the art of the ‘Smize’

With a face mask, people do not see you smile. Smiling with your eyes is the solution

I am ‘a smiler’. That means I smile at people I know, but also at people in the store, on the street even at grumpy chauffeurs in heavy traffic.

Wearing a mask makes this more difficult. Luckily, that doesn’t mean I can’t still convey my pleasure at seeing someone—even with a mask covering most of my face!

Tip for today:
Master the art of “Smize” that is “smiling with your eyes”. After all, our eyes are as much a part of our smiles as our lips and many say that genuine happiness shows up in the wrinkles on the sides of our eyes.

So the next time you want to shoot a friendly smile at someone at the grocery store or gas station, just bust out those wrinkles and smile big!

You will feel better, they will feel better, and these simple acts of kindness mean more than ever right now.

The term ‘smize’ was actually used for the first time by topmodel Tyra Banks, long before face masks were in the picture.

In this short clip she teaches us how to do it. This clip is so typical American and totally ‘over the top’ that I hope it will make you smile, uh I mean smize….
