In my eyes, Wout and Sylvia were the perfect couple. They both had\u00a0 demanding jobs and 3 little boys under 8.<\/p>

Alternately they were \u2018on duty\u2019. That person made sure that the boys were asleep (or at least fully washed and ready for bed) and that the food was on the table by the time the other partner came home. And then… they took the time to have an aperitif together and chatted about their day.<\/strong><\/p>

To me this was a true fairy tale picture! In our home, it was a lot less romantic between 6pm and 8.30pm. But when we did manage to have a peaceful aperitif (with the kids on our laps ;-)), we enjoyed every moment!

<\/span><\/strong>Prepare a nice aperitif for your partner, even if it is a normal weekday. Take a moment for each other and catch up.

Interesting study\u2026 couples who drink are happier<\/h5>

In a study entitled \u201cDrinking Patterns Among Older Couples: Longitudinal Associations With Negative Marital Quality<\/a>\u201d researchers at the University of Michigan found that older married couples with similar drinking habits tended to be happier.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

\u201cWe\u2019re not suggesting that people should drink more”, says Dr. Kira Birditt, the study\u2019s author. “It could be that couples that do more leisure time activities together have better marital quality\u201d \u2013 meaning the drinking might have nothing to do with it at all.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
